Marine Engineering Monday or Fridays afterschool 6-week course

What causes something to sink or float? How can engineers help explore and protect the ocean below? These questions and more are all explored in Junior Marine. In this class, students explore the concepts of marine engineering and mechanics, harnessing the power of water, and discovering designs that help us make the impossible, possible.

Robotics Engineering 7-week session 4th grade and above

The curriculum for the Robotics 101 program is designed to introduce students to both robot building as well as programming. The students will build robots to accomplish a specific task while using their imagination to make their robot better than the basic robot. During the class students will discover the Engineering Design Process in a real world setting as they test their robots multiple times. The challenge facing robotics engineers is that the robot knows only what is written into the program. The design of the robot must also be capable of performing the task at hand. In this unit, students will experience both the designing and programming roles of being a robotics engineer.

This class is centered on exploring the concepts of building and construction through hands-on exploration and design. Students explore the engineering behind skyscrapers, bridges, roads, and more in this fun and engaging experience.

Civil Engineering 6-week session 1st-2nd and 3rd-5th

During the Civil Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine skyscrapers and bridges designed to withstand the greatest force. They examine several different types of structural designs and discover how the forces of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures.

During the Mechanical Engineering unit, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and improve a variety of machines and mechanical systems. Students learn basics of energy, traction, aerodynamics, and durability while constructing roller coasters, defense vehicles, and accurate catapults.
