John F. Jones Scholarship Fund
John F. Jones is the deceased father of the owner of EFK NYC Bronx who is an engineering graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is fitting that the scholarship fund be named in memory of John F. Jones as EFK NYC Bronx seeks to pilot the use of sports and entertainment linkages to significantly increase participation of economically disadvantaged children across the United States in programs involving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. John F. Jones was an avid proponent of the value of education, a lover of music, and a fan of sports and musical entertainment. He spent his retirement years working as a part-time usher at Atlanta’s major sporting and entertainment venues.
The John F. Jones Scholarship Fund helps economically disadvantaged children 4 to 14 years old partake in innovative engineering enrichment programs offered by Engineering For Kids NYC Bronx (EFK NYC Bronx). The fund is jointly managed with the New York Solar Energy Society (NYSES).
- Donations to the fund are tax deductible, and are made payable to NYSES, a 501(3)(c), with John F. Jones Scholarship Fund written on the memo line.
- Checks should be mailed to EFK NYC Bronx, 90 Rockledge Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.
Thank you for inspiring the next generation of engineers!
