LaTisha Vaughn Brandon Engineering For Kids CharlestonLaTisha Vaughn-Brandon received her first Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri. Vaughn-Brandon resides in the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina with her husband and two vivacious daughters. After working for about six months in the field, she realized she needed to heed her calling to work in education and immediately returned to school to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Park College (now Park University), and Master of Educational Leadership from Georgia State University.

Vaughn-Brandon taught first, fourth, and fifth grades before leaving her “first love” to become a curriculum leader, assistant principal, principal and school district leader. Her school based experiences have been varied including teaching and leading traditional public schools, teaching in a multiage classroom, teaching and serving as a school administrator in charter schools, and working for a charter school management company. These opportunities provided her with a unique insight into education and a renewed passion to ensure all children have access to high quality educational experiences.

Vaughn-Brandon’s most recent role prior to launching Engineering for Kids was Director of Education Initiatives with Charleston Promise Neighborhood (CPN) and Assistant Associate Superintendent with Charleston County School District. This role allowed her to utilize the skills and strategies that she learned in her educational career to help propel the public private partnership between CPN and the Charleston County School District. During this assignment she became acutely aware of the need for STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) educational opportunities for all children. This need led to her investment in Engineering for Kids, an international franchise, whose goal is to expose every child to STEM enrichment opportunities.

Our goal is to ensure all children have equal access to a world class education so they will be able to compete in a global society.
