About Us

Engineering For Kids of Las Vegas West is owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Leo and Elise Silva, who have been inspiring local children through hands-on STEM education since 2015. Together, they have introduced tens of thousands of students across the Las Vegas Valley to engineering, science, and technology through engaging after-school programs, camps, workshops, and community partnerships.

Before launching Engineering For Kids, Leo managed an automotive repair business and dreamed of owning a family business where he could make a real difference in his community. Elise, a former middle school teacher, recognized that many local elementary schools had little to no STEM programming readily available. Together, they saw an opportunity to fill that gap and help children discover a passion for learning through engaging STEM activities.

Their mission goes beyond teaching engineering concepts. Leo and Elise believe the most important lessons children can learn are curiosity, resilience, creativity, and problem-solving. They encourage every student to ask questions, embrace challenges, and understand that mistakes are simply opportunities to learn and improve.

Over the years, they’ve watched students grow from curious kids into future engineers, scientists, and innovators. Many former students have pursued STEM degrees in college, while others have even returned to teach alongside the team that first inspired them. Those lasting relationships are a testament to the impact Engineering For Kids continues to make throughout the community.

Today, Leo, Elise, and their team remain committed to helping children throughout Las Vegas West build confidence, develop real-world skills, and discover that learning can be both challenging and fun. They are proud to provide families with enriching STEM experiences that inspire the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators.
