Tian was one of the first students at Engineering For Kids Indonesia, joining the program when it first opened its doors in 2015. Over the next several years, he became one of the business’s most familiar faces, regularly leading discussions in class and signing up for camp after camp.

From his earliest interactions with STEM, Tian gravitated towards engineering, and more specifically, robotics. As he grew older and enrolled in more advanced EFK courses, his passion eventually translated into competitive success, with Tian participating in and winning multiple robotics competitions.

Although Tian had to eventually stop attending class at age 14 when the COVID pandemic hit, he still carried the lessons he learned into the rest of his studies. Tian thrived in school and distinguished himself in STEM, earning 14 scholarship opportunities from top universities, including the University of British Columbia, Tsinghua University, and Beihang University.

After carefully weighing his options, Tian has chosen to attend Beihang University, one of China’s premier engineering institutions, where he plans to return to his EFK roots by pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

We are incredibly proud of Tian’s accomplishments, and we’re so grateful to have been part of his STEM journey! Though his time with Engineering For Kids was cut short due to extraordinary circumstances, his story still serves as a reminder that our classrooms can help create tomorrow’s top engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers.
