WINDSOR, Ontario (June 17, 2026)Engineering For Kids of Windsor-Chatham, a locally-owned STEM instruction provider serving children in the city of Windsor and Essex County, is this year’s recipient of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.

Engineering For Kids of Windsor-Chatham, which was founded in 2024 by current owners Keith and Geena Naicker, was nominated for three awards at the 138th Business Excellence Awards hosted on June 4th at the Chatham Capitol Theatre. The company’s full list of nominations included Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, and the Innovation Award.

“To receive this recognition is incredibly humbling,” said the Naickers. “When we started this business, our goal was simply to create opportunities for children to explore STEM concepts in a fun and engaging way. To see how the community has worked with us to embrace that mission is truly an honor. This award isn’t just for us – it belongs to every parent who trusted us with their children, every child who walked through our doors full of curiosity and imagination, and every supporter who stood with us through all of the ups and downs.”

The Business of the Year Award recognizes the organization that has best demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, growth, and contribution to the local community. For the Naickers, this award represents two years of tireless effort and dedication.

Since opening, Engineering For Kids of Windsor-Chatham has worked diligently to provide hands-on STEM learning experiences that help children build confidence, creativity, and other meaningful life skills. Through their after-school programs, camps, workshops, and community events, the company has become a premier extracurricular provider in Windsor-Chatham.

“We’ve had the privilege of watching children come into their own by discovering new interests, overcoming challenges, and achieving feats they didn’t realize they were capable of,” the Naickers added. “Those moments are the real reward for us, and creating more of those moments is what inspires us every day.”
