    Learn how to make your own Minecraft mods and Roblox games with Code Kingdoms. Code Kingdoms is an online platform which teaches children how to code. Used in 50+ countries, Code Kingdoms has had over 1 million young people using their coding technology. They are a key educational partner of Roblox and have previously partnered with the BBC and Minecraft. They have designed an effective coding environment, with integrated content, to enhance children's digital skills. Their technology guides children from the very first steps of programming in real languages, such as Lua, Java and JavaScript, while also developing their design and production capabilities.

    Junior Aerospace Engineering: Taking to the Skies

    The Junior Aerospace Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of aircraft and spacecraft design. Through open and focused exploration, students explore and construct airplanes, rockets, helicopters, and more.

    Aerospace engineering is one of the newest disciplines of engineering, facilitated by the growth of the aviation industry in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Aerospace engineers are responsible for the design of aircraft and the subsequent assembly or construction process. Aerospace engineering can also be further broken down into two separate branches: aeronautical engineering, which deals with the design of near-atmosphere aircraft, and astronautical engineering, which involves exo-atmosphere spacecraft. Some examples of an aerospace engineer’s responsibilities include:

    • Design airplanes (both jet and propeller), rockets, space vehicles, Hot-air balloons, helicopters, and other mechanical flying machines.
    • Develop new technology for the aviation industry, such as air traffic control software or computer programs, for airplane navigation.
    • Work with defense contractors to plan new ways to build aircraft that cannot be detected by radar.
    • Have an excellent understanding of physics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics in order to design and test missile technology.
    • Analyze the properties of propulsion and use advanced mathematics to calculate the energy needs of aircraft and spacecraft.
