Camps at Engineering For Kids of Edmonton

The Fun, Educational Camp Your Child Is Bound to Enjoy!

At Engineering For Kids, our camps are carefully structured to provide your child with the enrichment he or she needs to grow and thrive. Our camps run in the spring, winter, and summer for your convenience. Our programs come in many varieties to accommodate your schedule, such as half-day camps, full-day camps, and holiday break camps. We also host camps on scheduled days off for reasons such as professional work days, teacher conference days, etc.

Just a few of these beneficial opportunities include:
  • Teamwork: Most of our camps schedule fun and engaging teamwork activities that teach children the value of investing in others.
  • Resilience and motivation: Our challenging programs help to teach kids how to keep trying. This also helps them feel accomplished when they succeed, which develops their will to learn.
  • Decision-making: Our uniquely structured activities help children establish and build upon great decision-making skills, which can help build confidence.

In addition, the wide range of activities and classes that we offer encourage children to try new things, which is a beneficial skill that can be applied in several instances throughout adulthood.

The Amazing Race / Agent of Travel (ages 7 – 14)

Pack your bags and let's map out our trip around the world!

Engineering for Kids

Over 100 years ago, airplanes had not even made their first flight, yet today we can fly to the other side of the world in 12 hours!

Over the next five days, teams will work together to see who can travel the farthest around the world. This trip around the world will require students to design their very own bridge, boat, car and even a rocket!

Our camps give students a meaningful, hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of engineering and design-thinking methodology; challenging them to collaborate with their fellow campers to create solutions to real-world problems.

Building Cities (Ages 7-14)

From the ground up, Cities will rise as our young engineers get to work!

Building Cities

Do you have what it takes to engineer a magnificent city from an inhabitable environment?

During this camp, students form their very own construction crew and work together as a team to build a city from the ground up.

Crews design essential urban structures, develop processes to purify water and generate their own power.

Join up with a crew to compete in challenges that test the strength of your designs in Building Cities.

Junior Camps

EFK Junior Adventure and Discovery week (Ages 3 – 6)

Einstein Quote

The young adventurers will discover the fascinating world of engineering as they are challenged to create various builds using the engineering design process.

This adventurous camp is filled with nature and knowledge from the outdoors. We use elements of nature to create sun paintings, learn about solar energy and build solar cars. Kids will discover the wonders of what civil engineers have accomplished. We finish the week with a SPLAT! – the famous egg drop challenge that kids love!

Campers will explore, and experiment to further and deepen their own learning. Design thinking, problem solving, and collaboration are emphasized. The sky’s the limit when you bring your imagination to the table!

Junior Inventors (Ages 3 – 6)

A week of fun, creativity, and of course -- Engineering!

Junior Inventors

Over the course of a week, students will invent new machines and explore creative design solutions using the Engineering Design Process. Discover how a wind-up toy works and design your own drawing robot in our Engineering For Kids Inventor’s Workshop. We encourage learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage, and curiosity through open-ended challenges in the fields of STEM, fine arts, and learning.

Junior Robotics Summer Camp! (Ages 3 - 6)

LEGO robots

Our little campers will play and learn with Lego WeDo Construction kits.

They will work as young scientists, engineers, and mathematicians to build robots that engage different core elements of coding and simple machines, while solving simple challenges.

This highly engaging camp builds early STEM and spatial skills. Together we will foster a love of science, exploration, and nature.
