Engineering For Kids® brings the wonder and excitement of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to children ages 4-14 through a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Design a hot air balloon, build rockets, battle robots and design your own video games! All of this is possible with Engineering For Kids®!

At Engineering for Kids, our programs help children improve critical thinking and problem solving skills, inspire creativity and foster independent "out of the box" thinking. Each program is designed to offer an exciting, HANDS-ON experience that encourages collaboration and teamwork among classmates.

After School and Evening Classes

  • Structured as 4, 6, or 8 weeks in length
  • 45, 60 and 90 min class options (age and class dependent)

Curriculum Levels

Our goal is to teach engineering concepts and principles to students in a form they understand. Programs are available in three separate levels to best meet the needs of our learners:

  • Junior Engineers (Ages 4-6)
  • Apprentice Engineers (Ages 7-11)
  • Master Engineers (Ages 12-14)

At each level, students will build problem solving skills, discover how things work, engage in real world engineering problems, and learn math and science while having fun!

Junior Robotics "Let's Play Soccer"

Jr Robotics

This program is a perfect mixture of fun and learning, using LEGO® WeDo™ Robots. Using LEGO® bricks, students build a goal kicker, a goal keeper, and cheerful fans. They also learn how to program and operate their creations using a laptop computer.

Ages: 4 – 7

Class size: Minimum 6 kids – Maximum 12 kids.

Session: April 12 – May 24 (6 classes) No Class on May 3.

Days: Thursday

Time: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Location: South Leisure Centre

Apprentice Robotics "Robot Olympics"

Robotics Apprentice

During the LEGO® Robotics Olympics program, students design and program robots to compete in simulated Olympic events such as a sprinting in a race, throwing a basketball, and shooting a puck into a hockey goal. Students use LEGO® Robotics and computers to learn principles of robotics, computer programming, and teamwork.

Ages: 7 – 12

Class size: Minimum 6 kids – Maximum 12 kids

Session: April 12 – May 24 (6 classes) No Class on May 3.

Days: Thursday

Time: 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm

Coding Games in Scratch


Programming and coding are becoming necessary skills for various fields of engineering. Scratch is the computer programming language that makes it easy and fun to create interactive stories, games and animations. Students in “Coding Games in Scratch” will be introduced to coding and develop programming skills by designing and developing simple and fun video games using laptops and Scratch programming software. No previous programming knowledge needed!

Ages: 7 – 12

Class size: Minimum 6 kids – Maximum 14 kids.
