Jr. Summer Camp: Gospel Temple

7/5-7/9:

  • Jr. Game Builders (AM)
  • Jr. LEGO WeDo Robotics Wild Animals II (PM)
  • 5-7 yrs old

Jr. Game Builders: Everyone loves Games and in this camp kids will be able to build games that they love that are based on key Engineering concepts! Campers will be Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Game Designers in this engaging week. They will build Balancing Games, Games of Chance, Games that Vibrate, and Games that Buzz (who remembers 'Operation'?). And how about a game of Foosball?

LEGO WeDo Robotics Wild Animals II: In this program, we will be exploring a variety of coding and technology skills as well as working on group collaboration, critical thinking, and hands-on skills! Children will have the opportunity to learn about parts of robots. The children will be building and coding, using motion sensors while building turtles, gorillas, scorpions, and more!

Apprentice Summer Camp: Gospel Temple

7/12-7/16:

  • Apprentice Minecraft: Redstone (AM)
  • Mini Golf (PM): 8-11 yrs old

Apprentice Minecraft: Redstone: Medieval Machinations: Minecraft Redstone EDU PM: One of the more complicated aspects of Minecraft EDU is Redstone, which is Minecraft EDU’s version of electrical circuitry. This class will introduce students to the many uses of Redstone through a Medieval themed adventure of creation, exploration, and castle besieging. Students will work together to build their kingdom, and designing traps to defend their castle.

Mini Golf: At this interactive Engineering Camp, students will build their own Mini-Golf Course. They'll be introduced to Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Packaging Engineering, and more- while learning about Simple Machines, Force, Acceleration, Potential, and Kinetic Energy. On each day of Camp, students will be building Putting Greens and Holes such as Spiral Hill, See Saw, Flexi-Bridge, Bumper Bank Shots, and a Final Hole- complete with a Buzzer! By the end of the week, the students will be able to create one large Mini Golf Course and play together in a tournament!

Robots come in a variety of shapes, and sizes, and are each designed for unique tasks. The nature of this task can range from lifting simple objects to cleaning up large-scale natural disasters. The students will make race cars, helicopters, flood gates, trucks, and more.

Apprentice VEX IQ Robotics (AM): A VEX IQ class is designed to expose students to STEM fundamentals within the context of building a robot. Without even realizing it, students will begin to instinctively apply these lessons as they advance through the program. This hands-on process, especially for younger students, establishes an intuitive and deep-rooted expertise that simply cannot be replicated by traditional teaching methods.

Apprentice Design The Future:(PM): What does the future look like? Join us as we embark on an odyssey to explore the future of transportation, manufacturing and structural. Let’s take a look at the innovations of today and apply them to create the designs of tomorrow as we explore ways to harness clean energy and house a growing human population. Students will be building a house on stilts, an insulation station, and much more.
