Special Workshops
Robotics Engineering Workshops
at our Learning Center located at 649 Mulberry Street in Hammond
Choose Saturday, June 2nd or Sunday, June 3rd
Junior (K-2nd Grade) Robotics Engineering Workshop
1:45 pm-4:15 pm
The goal of this workshop is to introduce the students to the concept of robotics, as well as give the students a chance to build and program their first LEGO® WeDo™ robots. We will explore different builds from several themes of Stories, Mechanisms, Animals, and Soccer.
$35 per student.
Apprentice (3rd-8th Grade) Robotics Engineering Workshop
1:30pm-4:30pm
Apprentices will be introduced to both robot building as well as programming with more advanced LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots. Students will build robots utilizing various motors and sensors to accomplish specific engineering challenges while using their imagination to make their robot better than the basic starting build. During the workshop students will discover the Engineering Design Process in a real-world setting as they test their robots multiple times to complete various tasks.
$35 per student.
All Special Workshops will be held in our S.T.E.M. Learning Center located at 649 Mulberry Street in Hammond, across from Edison Park. From Calumet Avenue take Mulberry Street west; from 165th take Madison south; from 173rd take Madison north. Street parking is available on both Madison and Mulberry.
