SUMMER CAMP DESCRIPTIONS
Engineering For Kids camps are the perfect mix of hands-on learning, fun activities, games and active play! This summer, we’re offering half and full day camps for kids 5.5 to 12 years at six locations in Greater Victoria.
Junior Engineering: Robotics, Art, Lego, Oh My! Learn the basics of programming and coding with the Ozobot Robot in this hands-on, no laptop camp. Make your robot navigate a maze of LEGO by drawing colour coded lines that instruct it to move, spin, turn and more. Every day will be a new challenge and adventure for our tiny robots! A great introduction to the world of coding.
Junior Engineering: Medieval Defense: Do you have what it takes to defend your castle and maintain your family's honor? In this camp, campers will build their very own castle and then work to defend it by engineering canons and catapults. Become a knight and join us on the quest for glory and justice while exploring civil, mechanical, and marine engineering.
Junior Inventors: Join us for a week of fun, creativity, and of course -- engineering! Each day, we'll explore modern inventions like robots, toys and musical instruments, and use these as inspiration when we design and create our own amazing inventions.
Minecraft Camps: Whether you're new to our Minecraft camps or a regular, you'll be sure to have a blast this week! We'll take on some of our favourite Minecraft world challenges and introduce some awesome new ones. Lots of cool hands-on science experiments, engineering projects, outdoor games and activities will fill the week.
LEGO Robotics Mission to Mars: It’s all about building and computer programming this week. We’ll work in teams to design and program our robots to help us explore the planet Mars, navigating craters, retrieving samples and more! We'll also spend part of each day doing art, science and engineering projects and playing fun outdoor games.
3D Design and Printing Camp: Superheroes unite for a fun exploration into the world of 3D design and printing! Learn how to design and create superhero masks, power wrist cuffs and more with 3Doodler pens and computer-aided design (CAD) software. We’ll spend part of the week experimenting with the makey makey invention kit, a fun and simple circuitry tool that will have you making superhero sound effects.... with bananas?
